Suppressing Leakage Current for Cascaded H-Bridge Inverters in Renewable Energy and Storage Systems

Leakage current in a transformerless cascaded H-bridge (CHB) inverter is problem that deteriorates the system performance and causes safety concerns. In this article, common-mode equivalent circuit established for analyzing occurrence of leakage an m-level CHB with either asymmetrical or symmetrical inductance output filter configurations. The analysis provides comparison between traditional phase shifted pulsewidth modulation, disposition proposed reduction modulation. It reported grid cannot be suppressed configuration solely based on modulation methods. can effectively reduce nine-level inverter. Simulation experimental studies aforementioned methods are provided their performances evaluated.
